About Jaipur
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is one of India’s most captivating heritage cities—a place of grand forts, royal palaces, colourful bazaars and centuries-old traditions.
Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur was carefully planned with broad avenues, organised markets and distinctive architecture. Its historic walled city later became famous as the Pink City, recognised for the warm terracotta-pink colour of its traditional buildings.
