About
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is one of India’s most captivating heritage cities, known for its magnificent forts, royal palaces, colourful bazaars and centuries-old traditions. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur was carefully planned with broad avenues, organised markets and distinctive architecture. Its historic walled city later became famous as the Pink City because of the warm terracotta-pink colour of its traditional buildings.
